Reconditioned Gloves

Now more than ever, businesses are looking for clever ways to reduce their costs, improve worker safety, and practice environmentally friendly methods, all at the same time. After you’ve already looked at the materials you’ve been using, how to make the workplace more efficient, and have even revamped your work schedules, it’s time to look for opportunities that are hiding in plain sight.

You likely spend hundreds, if not thousands, each year on specialty work gloves for you and your work teams. In many ways, this cost is worth it because it keeps your employees safe. But you can stretch your glove budget farther by investing in reconditioned gloves from Brent Industries. By using a proprietary process, we can thoroughly recondition nearly any kind of work gloves you use, helping you save money while still offering your employees the protection they need.

Brent Industries is proud to recondition and then resell a variety of gloves that are commonly used across industries. Here are the gloves that we recondition and have for sale:

These gloves have been reconditioned by Brent Industries. Our reconditioned gloves are laundered, inspected, then paired and bundled by the dozen. Our first-grade quality reconditioned gloves are designed to greatly reduce your cost of new glove purchases, while at the same time providing the wearer with the same quality and protection of new.

Not all companies can take advantage of glove reuse. In many instances, we will acquire these gloves, then recondition them for resale. Reconditioned gloves offer considerable savings of up to 70%. Call us for the availability of reconditioned glove styles.

Perhaps only second to your employees, your work gloves are some of the hardest workers in your business. This means that they’re exposed to a variety of working conditions and contaminants throughout their life cycle. Invariably, these gloves are “retired,” often to a pile of other dirty work gloves. Not only is this an inefficient use of your resources, but it’s also a costly one too, from both a financial and environmental standpoint.

That’s why Brent Industries has designed a clever way to recondition these gloves. Using a unique three-phase process, we can breathe new life into your old gloves, allowing you to use them all over again. Our process can be applied to not only work gloves but nearly all industrial textiles, like wiping clothes and absorbents, that contain hazardous or quasi-hazardous substances.

Our commitment to environmentally friendly practices means that our process cleans these items without putting other pollutants into the environment or creating wastewater. Essentially, we’ve developed a form of highly specialized dry-cleaning that makes use of Stoddard solvents that eliminates the creation of harmful by-products.

Shipping and Transportation

Our process begins with you! Once you’ve received a quote from your Brent Industries representative, we’ll coordinate a shipping process and help you figure out which type of container you’ll need for your soiled work gloves. From there, we utilize a common carrier service to move the gloves to our refinery. If necessary, we can transport materials that are considered hazardous, as all of our drivers possess a haz-mat endorsement on their driver's license. At our unique petrochemical refinery, we can begin to recondition your gloves.

Our Petrochemical Refinery

One of the standout features of Brent Industries is our petrochemical refinery and processing plant. It makes our reconditioning and dry-cleaning process possible. Our refinery features an on-site fractionation tower that helps to clean up the solvents used in the dry-cleaning process. That allows us to capture these solvents and reuse them nearly endlessly. It saves us and our customers money, and it’s better for the environment too. In fact, we generate approximately 2,000 gallons of solvents every month that can be reused for other purposes.

Dry-Cleaning and Reconditioning Your Work Gloves

Once your gloves have been received at our refinery, we can begin dry-cleaning them. We examine the contents of every container and separate out the materials that can and cannot be cleaned. We move the soiled gloves into our drycleaning machine and use a specific balance of chemicals to remove the contaminants. We recover any residual solvents through our vapor reclaiming dryers, or our recovery units. Since we do not allow any solvents or vapors to leave the refinery and enter the atmosphere, we consider this a closed-loop process.

We recognize that you have certain needs and requirements for your gloves, so we take special care to ensure that the same gloves you send us are the ones that you get back. In fact, many of our customers find that their reconditioned gloves are more comfortable to wear after our process, meaning that employees are more likely to wear them and stay safe.

Cost Savings

Freeing up money in your budget means you can invest more in your employees, expanding your business, or purchasing the equipment and materials you need to succeed. The fact is, buying gloves in bulk can save you money, yes, but reusing those same gloves time and time again is a great way to stretch that budget even further. We estimate that you can save up to 70% on the cost of work gloves when you recondition and reuse your work gloves.

Your cost savings don’t end after your first reconditioning. In fact, we can wash, dry-clean and recondition your gloves three to eight times, depending on the level of wear-and-tear and the industry they’re used in. That means the same set of gloves can be used for a number of projects over a longer period of time. That means fewer new glove orders and more savings.

Gentle on the Environment

With growing concerns over global environmental challenges like climate change, businesses are looking for new and innovative ways to lessen their impact. While the production, purchase, and use of PPE are necessary for your business, that doesn’t mean you can’t make some eco-conscious changes.

By having your gloves reconditioned, or purchasing reconditioned gloves through Brent Industries, you’re limiting the need to purchase new gloves all of the time. This has a far-reaching effect. First, there’s less strain on the resources needed to produce new gloves if you’re reusing your old ones. Next, there are fewer fossil fuels being expended to package and ship these new gloves. Finally, you’re avoiding the improper disposal of your old gloves, which could let the hazardous materials leach into delicate soils and waterways.

Thanks to our unique, closed-loop process, we can remove the hazardous materials from your gloves, while also capturing and reusing the solvents and vapors we produce.

EPA Compliance

If the environmental and economic benefits aren’t drivers for you, there are legal obligations that your business has to be aware of. Executive Order 13101, passed in 1998, means that you have to find eco-friendly alternatives to your major practices if they exist. First, this policy encourages businesses like yours to prevent pollution when possible. If it cannot be avoided, the pollution should be recycled and treated in an environmentally safe manner.

If you fail to comply with EPA regulations, your business could face fines or other legal action. This can slow down your business or halt it entirely in some cases.
